HOUSE CONCERTS

Over the years we’ve been delighted to be invited in some of Charleston’s most historic properties, to provide classical and modern music to match the atmosphere and taste that the host would like for their guests. Our Charleston String Quartet, as a popular example, can perform for an hour of classical favorites, or more modern arrangements of popular artists of the host’s choice.

CORPORATE EVENTS

For most corporate events where there’s a lavish dinner with speaking, we can play a mix of modern pop and jazz. Speakers and wireless handheld microphones with our sound engineer can be at your disposal for toasts and slideshows. We’ve performed at just about every hotel and resort in the region over the past 20 years and know the etiquette of where to set up, how loud to play depending on guest size etc. We play strings and classical guitar music in the background when there is a break. Your event planner will be in constant touch with us throughout the event.

WEDDINGS

Charleston, South Carolina has become the most in-demand destination for weddings in America. We are delighted to be part of your special day you’ve looked forward to. Lauren Williams will be your music planner from the very first email or phone call, to the day of your wedding.

Music Order During Ceremonies (typically)

While the specifics of ceremony orders may vary, a typical sequence includes songs for:

  1. Seating of the family – usually grandparents and parents
  2. Bridal Party – officiant, groom/groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower girls/ring bearers
  3. Bridal Processional
  4. Optional Interlude (e.g., unity candle, sand ceremony)
  5. Recessional

Considering Your Vision & Style

What’s your vibe? Are you leaning towards traditional tunes, modern/classic pop, or a fusion of both? The music performed should reflect your personality and style. Crafting a tailored playlist has become more enjoyable with our custom pop arrangements and classical favorites.

For instance, some brides mix a traditional song for family seating and the bridal party, add a contemporary twist for the bride’s entrance, and finish with an upbeat recessional.

Guest Arrival / Prelude Music

For the 20-30 minutes of guest arrival/prelude, most of the time we will choose songs that match the style of your ceremony songs. If you’d like to pick out some songs for prelude, you’re welcome to – we’ll seamlessly fill in any remaining time with selections of a similar style.

Elevate Your Cocktail Hour with Amplified Strings

During cocktail hour we usually pick up the pace and play more upbeat covers with faster tempos and ear-catching melodies that set the perfect mood while the bridal party and family capture memories or mingle with guests. Unlike many groups, we can amplify our strings with electric instruments, ensuring your guests can fully enjoy the music. If you’re feeling a bit more eclectic, consider the energy of Mike W Electric Violin – Charleston’s Standard for an improvised-infused electric violin performance.

Customized Songs Just for You

We want to give you a unique and tailored listening experience. If there’s a song not on our list that’s close to your heart, we’re up for the challenge. Whether it’s three Dave Matthews Band songs for die-hard fans or a special tune played on a first date, we’ve got you covered. Note that custom arrangements involve a fee for ordering scores and meticulous note-by-note arranging, so we recommend three or more weeks’ notice, especially during peak wedding season.
