String Duo – Dunes West

Congratulations to Brittany and Larry on their marriage!

Saturday may have brought near freezing temperatures, that didn’t seem to effect the romantic and enchanting mood. We always enjoy performing weddings at Dunes West golf club which features beautiful west-facing views of the marsh. They also have a very picturesque clubhouse which makes for a nice backdrop.

Since it was so cold, the ceremony took place indoors on the second floor of the golf club. I have never performed there but the room upstairs was furnished very elegantly and was surrounded by floor to ceiling windows facing the marsh. So if it winds up raining for your outdoor wedding at Dunes West, not to worry because they have a lovely updated furnished room as a backup!

We performed a wonderful set of songs from the new “Pride and Prejudice” movie which we arranged specially for the bride. Selections included: “Stars and Butterflies”, “A Postcard to Henry Purcell”, “Meryton Townhall”, and “Mrs. Darcy”. My favorite song out of all of them is the “Meryton Townhall” which makes in my opinion a perfect recessional. I thought it was very sweet having the guests leaving to “Mrs. Darcy” which was very appropriate! :-)

So here is our full setlist!

String Duo – Seacoast Church

We had a great time performing for Christine and Nick’s wedding this past Saturday!

The wedding ceremony was held at the Seacoast church in Mt. Pleasant. They had a nice touch of Christmas with some Christmas decor in the lobby as well as a beautiful Christmas tree in the sanctuary. If you are looking to get married in a church setting but want something with a modern flair, this would be a good possibility.  Their rules are very loose  with music choices as we did perform some Coldplay for the recessional!

The party continued at the Water’s Edge restaurant on Shem Creek for the cocktail hour. The day was rather chilly but the semi-outdoor cocktail hour under a tent with heaters created a cozy and intimate atmosphere for the guests. Afterwards the guests went inside for the dinner portion.

So here we go with the ceremony music line-up:

Grandmothers/mothers + Bridal Party

In My Life – Beatles

Bride

Canon in D – Pachelbel

Recessional

Viva La Viva – Coldplay

It was a very nice mix of contemporary and classical. Since In My Life was performed for the mothers and bridal party you got to hear the whole entire song which was very nice. Depending on the song, sometimes it is a great option to have one piece played for the whole processional up until the bride. That way the music is more continuous and you hear more of that song.

Congratulations Christine and Nick on their marriage!

String Duo – Boone Hall

What a perfect day it was for Erica and Peter, making their vows as the sun was lowering at Boone Hall Plantation. The lighting was so lovely I know the photographer was probably in her glory.
They had a very personal style of ceremony such as writing their own original vows which had a nice touch of humor to them.

Mothers
Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring – Bach

Bridal Party
Fix You – Coldplay

Bride
Canon in D – Pachelbel

Recessional
Viva La Vida – Coldplay

Congrats to Erica and Peter!
