Classical String Duo – Ceremony at Mepkin Abbey
Mepkin Abbey is one of those tucked away places where you feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle of the world and part of nature as it is. It was founded from a community of Trappist monks who live and work on the property. It also is a wonderful setting for a ceremony since it features acres of charming gardens and wonderful vistas of the riverfront.
After many weeks of rain and cold temperatures, the weather proved to be delightful for the wedding. It was very comfortable to take a stroll in the gardens and enjoy the scenery.
To get to the ceremony, you follow down moss-covered brick steps which takes you to a open grassy area that faces the riverfront. There is plenty of shade for the guests with the dramatic aged oak trees and their hanging Spanish moss.
Amongst the neutral colors of the vegetation, the bride chose eye-catching yet refreshing colors for the flowers which looked beautiful. For music, she selected a very fitting play list which fit very well with the traditional and spiritual undertones of the venue itself.
