Bob and Mike Williams performed on April 14th, 2010 at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. This group specifically wanted the Williams Duo and their unique songs they play.

The company’s planner contacted us a few weeks before the event, and for a surprise for the guests, she ordered our CD for every person who attended the event. After listening to the Williams Duo for the reception, they would leave and find the CD of the Williams Duo as a surprise, wrapped nicely in their hotel rooms at the Sanctuary Hotel to take home with them.

By the end of the night, it turned into pretty much a concert, with most everyone sitting down listening to us and playing name that tune. We’ve never heard so many requests of pop songs… we play one by Eric Clapton or the Chili Peppers and boom, everyone wants to hear this and that, and the energy level of the entire room just went up. They wanted entertainment, and not just ‘background music’.

It is worth the wait with drive to the ‘end of Kiawah’ at the Ocean Course, with its stunning views of the golf course, clubhouse and ocean / dunes all in one. Music for Dinner at Kiawah’s Sanctuary Hotel

Bob and Mike thoroughly enjoyed performing their special repertoire at the Kiawah’s Sanctuary hotel. The first hour started outside of the Terrace Oaks Ballroom, overlooking the beach. Bob & Mike performed their music memorized, with no music stand which makes it look a little less cluttered. They amplified their acoustic instruments, which were heard well through the crowd outdoors. The final 2 hours were inside the Terrace Oaks, for dinner. They played ‘name that tune’, and played some of their more difficult-to-guess songs.

It’s funny when you have one table trying to guess, then another table trying come up with the title or artist of the song we are playing first; it’s as entertaining to us as our performance is to them!

Classical Duo – Ceremony at the Ocean Course

We thoroughly enjoyed performing for the wedding at the Ocean Course. The views were simply spectacular having the ocean, the expansive course, and a wonderful sunset all in different directions. You simply didn’t know where to look! The bride and groom couldn’t have picked a better day to celebrate their marriage.

Since you had such naturally beautiful surroundings, minimal decoration for the ceremony was needed. The ceremony was done just right showing off the light blue wedding colors which had a stunning contrast to the green of the golf course. To finish the decor of the ceremony, there were petite white rose arrangements displayed on different sized pedestals. The cocktail hour and reception was held in the newly-built clubhouse which takes on a style from the old golf clubhouses in Scotland.

Another one of Kiawah’s breathtaking views, nestled on the banks of the Kiawah River, the Kiawah River Course is a great alternative to the Sanctuary’s Grand Lawn. Bob and Mike Williams (my father and I) had the privilege of performing the ceremony and cocktail reception afterward on January 2nd, 2010.

We performed our classical repertoire for the wedding ceremony including Canon in D, Ave Maria, and Purcell’s Trumpet Tune. For the cocktail hour, we lightly amplified our acoustic instruments and performed a mix of Jazz and Popular tunes. Our goal is to happily surprise our clients when they hear our unique sound performing popular artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, and more on the guitar and violin. We are not just to be ‘background music’, but to entertain in a unique way which no other group can emulate.

I just wanted to say thank you for performing at the ceremony and cocktail reception for my sister Kim’s wedding this past weekend. You and your son are so talented and the music you play is a treat to listen to – I had more people ask me in complete surprise if we were listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers during cocktails and the feedback was amazing!!

Strolling Violin at Tomasso at Turtle Point, Kiawah

Mike Williams, on violin will be performing a complete variety of songs and styles – classical, jazz and pop as a strolling violinist at Tomasso at Turtle Point on February 8th, 2010, celebrating the one year anniversary of Tomasso.
